How Our Research Process Works

Every research initiative follows a structured methodology split into distinct operational phases:

Consulting: Pre-Research Alignment (Optional)

For teams that “don’t know what they don’t know,” we start with consulting before any survey goes out. We review your current surveys and past research for the gaps and missed opportunities. We plan how your distinct customer groups should be segmented for surveying and analysis. And we explore your contact list to find the fields, like industry or tier, that will sharpen the resulting analysis and dashboards.

Phase A: Design & Deploy

This phase focuses on crafting survey questions, establishing precise rating scales, configuring complex skip logic, and launching response campaigns.

  • Cost Drivers: Survey length and question gating complexity dictate the setup hours required. A 10-question pulse survey takes significantly fewer design and QA hours than a 40-question enterprise diagnostic.

Phase B: Analyze & Find

This phase turns raw survey data into actionable findings, uncovering the signal in the noise.

  • Cost Drivers: Pricing scales with response volume and analytical depth. A simple single-metric summary (like baseline NPS) is straightforward. Multi-departmental studies analyzing hundreds of variables across thousands of respondents require deeper cross-tabulations, correlation matrices, and customized departmental reports.

Phase C: Answer & Act

For organizations seeking ongoing execution support, Phase C provides advisory guidance, action planning workshops, and stakeholder alignment to ensure survey findings translate into organizational change.

What Factors Move the Price?

Where a specific project lands within the Level 1–3 tiers depends on four primary variables:

  • Survey Length: More questions mean more layout design up front and more data synthesis after fielding.
  • Logic Complexity: Conditional branching, quota routing, and dynamic paths require rigorous testing and quality assurance before deployment.
  • Response Base & Analysis Opportunity: List size alone does not drive cost. However, a larger response base enables richer statistical options—allowing crosstabs and correlation analyses by department or persona to hold up under scrutiny.
  • Program Cadence: Transactional vs. Relationship deployment structure.

Continuous vs. Periodic Program Cadence

Cadence is an operational choice based on your strategic goals, independent of your selected pricing level:

  • Transactional Surveys: Real-time feedback triggered by ongoing customer interactions (such as tech support tickets or service repairs). These run continuously and operate on a predictable monthly fee.
  • Relationship Surveys: Comprehensive evaluations of overall account health across your entire customer base. These run periodically (quarterly or annually) and are billed per deployment.
